The harvest has begun in 55 regions, and the work speed is almost twice as high as last year. Already, 40% of grain and legume crops have been processed, and almost 64 million tons of produce have been harvested. Vice Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev announced this during his working trip to the Saratov region. Patrushev emphasized the need to maintain a high pace of harvest and complete the work within the set deadlines. He also noted the importance of readiness of drying complexes, elevators, and warehouses for storing the harvest.
During the meeting, Patrushev tasked the Ministry of Agriculture with monitoring the submission of harvest reports. He also stressed the need to provide farmers with production resources, especially seeds, giving priority to domestic breeding.
To ensure high quality of seasonal work, the government allocated 94 billion rubles to support agriculture. Additionally, 25 billion rubles were allocated for loans, 7 billion rubles for grain interventions, and 1 billion rubles for preferential leasing. Furthermore, work continues on strengthening the material and technical base of farmers, including fuel supplies and ensuring the availability of mineral fertilizers.
However, in August, rains and excessive soil moisture will complicate the harvest in the Asian part of the country, while unfavorable conditions for grain ripening will persist in the Russian Far East. On the other hand, good weather for harvest and sowing of winter crops is expected in the second half of the month in the Ural Federal District and Western Siberia.
In most regions of the European part of Russia, agrometeorological conditions for harvest and winter grain sowing will be close to normal. However, in the Southern and North Caucasus Federal Districts, as well as in the south of the Volga region, conditions for crop formation will be poor due to continued drought in August.
