The authorities of the Russian Federation are implementing new initiatives in the field of agricultural technology development and animal medicine production.
“The government has developed amendments to the Federal scientific and technical program for the development of agriculture. We will expand its composition in two directions. First and foremost, we will focus on creating modern machinery and equipment for the agro-industrial complex to reduce dependency on imports and improve the quality of agricultural products,” said Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting with deputy prime ministers on Monday.
The second amendment is aimed at increasing the production of veterinary drugs.
According to the government’s press release, the total funding for the direction of "Agricultural machinery and equipment" will amount to about 15.8 billion rubles, of which over 2.7 billion rubles will be attracted as investments.
It is expected that by 2030, no less than 27 new types of agricultural machinery will be developed, including modern tractors, grain harvesters, potato and beet harvesters, mechanisms for servicing and harvesting fruit and berry plantations and vineyards, modern sprayers, fertilizer applicators, seeders, milking machines, and egg sorting machines.
The implementation of the second subprogram "Development of technologies for the production of veterinary drugs" will allow achieving 70% satisfaction of the livestock industry's need for domestic veterinary drugs by 2030. By no later than this deadline, the usage level of domestic vaccines should reach 61%. The inclusion of state funding will amount to over 4.4 billion rubles, with plans to attract over 12 billion rubles from non-budget sources.
