In Kuban, wheat harvesting is starting: record yields of up to 75 c/ha are expected. The Gulkevichsky pedigree farm is ready for harvesting.

"Wheat varieties from Kuban are our pride. They are strong, with excellent yields. Currently, the main task is to harvest all crops, not to miss a single ear, quickly and efficiently. Half of Russia's population eats our bread. Kuban must maintain its status as a stable food supplier," noted Veniamin Kondratiev.

Ludmila Bespalova, head of the wheat and triticale breeding and multiplication department at the Lukyanenko National Grain Center, emphasized the excellent grain filling in the ears.

"There are all prerequisites to achieve a yield of over 75 centners per hectare on this plot. We plan to start harvesting in early July," reported Ludmila Bespalova.

Veniamin Kondratiev also visited the mechanized unit of the pedigree plant. The preparation for harvesting here was done in advance. In the upcoming harvesting work, 12 combine harvesters that have undergone maintenance will be used. The average area processed by each combine harvester is 278 hectares. In addition, 13 trucks and tractor-trailers will be used to transport the harvest to the elevator. All equipment is equipped with fire safety means, and two fire brigades are also prepared.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Krasnodar region, at the moment, the Gulkevichsky pedigree plant, like other agricultural enterprises in the region, has sufficient reserves of fuel and working materials for the upcoming harvesting campaign.

The Gulkevichsky pedigree plant is the largest in the area. The area of cultivated lands here exceeds 7.8 thousand hectares, of which 7.2 thousand hectares are used for crops. More than half of the arable land is allocated for grain crops. Excellent crop yields are achieved thanks to the effective land use and timely cultivation.
