During the harvest of 2025, it is planned to use 320 thousand hectares of land. Besides wheat and rye, winter rapeseed is sown. Additionally, parallel harvesting is carried out.
In this field, there is a smell of cabbage, but there are no vegetables here; it's actually oilseed crops, such as rapeseed. This crop is created by crossing turnip and cabbage, giving it unique properties. Rapeseed removes rot and harmful bacteria from fertile soil. Furthermore, silage, haylage, and cattle feed are cultivated from the processed products and stems. Technical fluids like biofuel, oleoil, and various lubricants are also obtained from oilseed crops' seeds. Rapeseed is also used in the food industry.
Currently, this is the most profitable crop in our agriculture. Mainly, the seeds are directed towards oil production. We have been working on this for several years now. The areas increase every year, and at the moment, over two thousand hectares are occupied by rapeseed. A good harvest is expected this year.

Currently, farmers in the Starozhilovsky district are harvesting rapeseed. Agricultural machinery is out in the fields. Remaining stems are left on the ground for further processing. The seeds are directed into the machines' bunkers, and then into the car's trunk.
Agronomists claim that rapeseed is quite undemanding and resistant to adverse weather conditions in the central region. However, to get a good harvest, technological requirements must be followed.
The plant requires an adequate amount of moisture and nitrogen fertilizers. If these two conditions are met, everything will be fine. Of course, extra attention is needed during harvest, as the crop has small seeds and requires special care. It is also necessary to reduce losses. For example, cover the sides and prevent substance leakage, as if it were water.

Hot and dry weather favours farmers during rapeseed harvest, simplifying and speeding up the process. Meanwhile, such conditions only complicate sowing of winter crops.
We hope that the dry period will soon end with rains. We will have to wait for the weather to improve in any case. We need the fertilizers to work at this moment. During sowing, the main focus is on fertilizers so they are incorporated correctly, so they dissolve.
Svetlana Kychanova, head of the agriculture and environment protection department of the Starozhilovsky district administration.
Farmers are taking all possible measures to achieve a good harvest of winter crops next year. Success depends not only on the weather but also on the seed material and fertilizers used. Agricultural enterprises have already prepared everything in advance.
The main seeds are already prepared. Elite seeds were purchased in Podvyazi, at the Ryazan Institute.

Engineers have also prepared tractors with seeders in advance. Agricultural machinery has been equipped with onboard computers and special satellite devices. They set the required machine speed in the field and adjust the grain sowing depth. To avoid errors in the technological process due to the human factor, tractors move across the field in automatic mode along a set trajectory.
The new equipment is much more precise and helps reduce losses. We were provided with steering wheels, which are very convenient. Just press a button, and that's it, the tractor moves straight. Thus, seeds are used more economically.

According to farmers, this year, fertilizer prices have significantly increased, but state support largely compensates for the costs. However, agricultural producers from the Starozhilovsky district expressed dissatisfaction with the pricing policy for grain sales. For instance, this year, the price for 1 kilogram of 4th-grade wheat is only 13 rubles, which is insufficient for the effective and profitable operation of enterprises. However, farmers still hope that the price for such a labor-intensive and complex production will reach 16 rubles.
