Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) imposes restrictions on loading grain cargoes in containers through the Altynkol station due to a huge accumulation of trains.

New restrictions from KTZH: from January 11 to January 20, grain cargoes are not accepted and empty wagons are not processed through Altynkol station. Penalties for failure to meet the transportation plan are waived.

Due to the large accumulation of container trains heading to China through the Altynkol checkpoint (over 90 trains), as well as due to repairs on the tracks (construction in the Moiunty-Dostyk section), Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) is reintroducing restrictions.

According to a KTZ document, from January 11 to 20 of this year, loading of all grain cargoes in containers will be prohibited, as well as processing of empty wagons through the Altynkol station.

Goods such as wheat, barley, oilseeds, flaxseeds, meal, and processed products (flour, mixed fodder, bran) fall under this restriction.

As a result, cargo shippers are exempt from fines for failure to meet transport plans in the second half of January.
