Export of lentils from Kazakhstan has increased – Turkey and Afghanistan are major importers.

At the beginning of the current season, Kazakhstan increased exports of lentils to Turkey, sending 107.1 thousand tons in September-October 2024. The volume of exports in October reached a record 45.5 thousand tons.

Additionally, imports of lentils to Afghanistan have also increased.

At the beginning of the current season, Kazakhstan significantly increased the export volume of lentils. Turkey, as the main importer of this product, continues to hold the leading position, according to official statistics provided by Agro Perspectiva.

During September-October 2024, Kazakhstan sent 107.1 thousand tons of lentils to Turkey. This is the highest figure in the last three seasons (42.1 thousand tons were exported during two months in 2023/24, and 26.9 thousand tons in 2022/23).

It is also worth noting that the export volume of lentils in October 2024 reached a record level - 45.5 thousand tons (19.4 thousand tons in October 2023, and 15.6 thousand tons in 2022).

After several months of pause, in October 2024, Kazakh lentils were also shipped to the UAE in the amount of 2.44 thousand tons, which is close to the figure of the same period in 2023.

Afghanistan also significantly increased the import of this product in September-October 2024, reaching 1.5 thousand tons (only 712 tons were imported during two months in 2023/24).
