Next year, Russia will continue its wheat quality control activities. The federal institution "TSOK APK," which is subordinate to the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor), plays a key role in this process. According to Government Resolution No. 176, the institution has the right to take grain samples from producers at the place of its formation, conduct research in the laboratory, and enter the results into the federal information system "Grain."
The first deputy director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "TSOK APK," Inna Zaichenko, emphasizes the importance of this monitoring, considering that Russia is the world's largest producer and exporter of grain. Data on the quality and safety of the crop allow for efficient planning of domestic demand, exports, and purchases for the intervention fund. Monitoring also ensures traceability of grain from the field to the consumer, strengthens the country's food security, and enhances the competitiveness of Russian wheat in the global market.
This year, the institution plans to inspect about 52 million tons of wheat, which represents 64% of the total monitoring volume in the country. Inspections will be carried out in 27 regions of the Russian Federation, including Krasnodar, Stavropol, and Altai Krais, Omsk, Kursk, and Rostov Oblasts, as well as the Republic of Tatarstan and Crimea. Sampling, analysis, and data entry into the system will be provided free of charge for producers.
Inna Zaichenko is confident that this monitoring will help obtain objective information about the new crop and form batches of grain with the necessary characteristics. If necessary, adjustments or drying can be carried out to maintain the quality of the product and prevent a decrease in the quality of high-quality wheat.
