The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) held talks with the temporary successor of the Committee of State Inspection in Agriculture of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, Saken Kanibekov.
During the negotiations, Rosselkhoznadzor expressed concern over the failure of Kazakh colleagues to comply with temporary restrictions imposed by the Service since October 17, 2024, on the import of wheat, flax seeds, and lentils of Kazakh origin into the territory of Russia, including shipments to third countries without direct transshipment.
The department registered cases of Kazakh grain product imports: 5 thousand tons of wheat each in the companies "Rostov Sea Multimodal Port" and "Sea Trading Port Temryuk," which do not provide for direct grain transshipment. In addition, in some cases, quarantine harmful organisms for the EAEU have been found in the products.
"The current situation poses high risks of spreading quarantine objects throughout the territory of the Russian Federation and, due to the use of common port infrastructure (silos, warehouses, conveyors, etc.), may lead to contamination of export batches of Russian grain," the statement said.
Rosselkhoznadzor warned Kazakh colleagues about the need to take comprehensive measures to comply with the quarantine and phytosanitary requirements of the EAEU and the imposed restrictions.
