The Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture, has confirmed the forecast for grain harvest at 132 million tons. Currently, more than 93 million tons have already been harvested, including 70.5 million tons of wheat. Vice Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev reported this during a meeting on the situation in the agro-industrial complex. The harvest has begun in all grain-producing regions. Harvesting of oilseeds, vegetables, potatoes, fruits, and berries is also underway. Unfortunately, adverse weather conditions affecting work in some regions, such as the South, Central Russia, and the Volga region, will impact the final harvest volumes. Nevertheless, the Ministry of Agriculture confirms the forecast for grain collection at the level of 132 million tons.
This year, harvesting started earlier than usual in the south of Russia, already in mid-June, as reported by the general director of the agroholding "Steppe" Andrey Neduzhko. In his farms, the grain harvest is practically completed, and a significant part of niche crops has been harvested. Agroholding specialists are currently analyzing the ratio of planned and actual crop yields of agricultural crops. According to preliminary data, it is expected that the yield compared to last year will decrease by 10%.
Enterprises managed by the farm group "AgroGard" in the Krasnodar region have a good harvest of grain crops, significantly exceeding the planned indicators. They started harvesting wheat and barley in early July and have already completed it. The average yield among the group's agricultural holdings was 88 centners per hectare for barley and 77 centners per hectare for wheat. However, the yield of spring crops is significantly lower than the average indicators of previous years.
In the Krasnodar region, the harvesting of soybeans, sunflowers, and corn continues. The farms of the "AgroGard" group have harvested about 80% of the planned areas. However, the planned indicators for these crops were not achieved due to abnormal heat and lack of rainfall.
In the Central region of Russia, the farms of the "AgroGard" group fell slightly short of the planned grain yield of winter wheat. Barley yield also turned out to be lower due to unstable winter weather and spring frosts. Harvesting of row crops has just begun. In the Lipetsk, Kursk, and Oryol branches, the harvesting of soybeans started two weeks earlier than last year.
The agricultural firm "Progress" from the Krasnodar region has already completed the harvest of grain crops. The harvest of corn and sugar beets is planned for mid-September, and preparatory work is currently underway.
In Russia, sowing of winter crops continues. 3.3 million hectares have already been sown, which corresponds to forecast expectations. The transition to domestic seeds continues as recommended by the Ministry of Agriculture. The government has adopted a set of measures to provide farmers with necessary resources. Over 94 billion rubles were allocated to support agricultural production and field work in 2024. More than 70% of this amount has already been received. In addition, systemic support mechanisms are provided in the fuel and mineral fertilizer market.
