According to customs data, in January, corn exports from Brazil to international markets decreased by 26.3% compared to last year, amounting to 3.59 million tonnes (4.87 million tonnes were shipped in January 2024).
The main buyers of Brazilian corn in January were Iran (1.09 million tonnes), Egypt (870.82 thousand tonnes), Vietnam (313.85 thousand tonnes), Bangladesh (225.79 thousand tonnes), and Morocco (159.12 thousand tonnes).
In addition, wheat exports also decreased in January to 551.68 thousand tonnes (compared to 935.04 thousand tonnes in January 2024). The main buyers of Brazilian wheat were Vietnam (315.95 thousand tonnes), Saudi Arabia (131.33 thousand tonnes), Indonesia (64.4 thousand tonnes), and Ecuador (36 thousand tonnes).
Furthermore, Brazilian soybean exports fell to 1.07 million tonnes (-62.4% compared to January 2024), with China receiving 799.95 thousand tonnes, Thailand – 119.21 thousand tonnes, Iraq – 92.7 thousand tonnes, and Spain – 60.49 thousand tonnes.
It is worth noting that during the first week of February, Brazilian corn exports amounted to 499.24 thousand tonnes, wheat – 210.21 thousand tonnes, and soybean – 348.19 thousand tonnes.
