🇨🇳China does not intend to accept agricultural goods from Kazakhstan by grain carrier wagons until the end of the current year. This type of transportation was suspended over a year ago at the request of the Chinese side, - said Vladimir Petrov, the head of "KTZ-Freight Transportation" company, the national carrier of Kazakhstan.
The situation with container transportation is complex, but functional. "The situation on the Chinese side has deteriorated significantly since August," Petrov said. - "If at the beginning of the year we worked there almost without downtime, now 70 trains heading to the Chinese border are standing still. Among them, 36 are container trains, 25 of which carry grain cargoes and seeds. We have had several negotiations with the Chinese side, our representatives visited the border and met with the director of the road department in Alashankou. The Chinese side stated that grain and other plant-origin agricultural cargoes are mandatory for customs inspection and analysis according to Chinese legislation. Therefore, they will continue to conduct 100% inspection of each container, send samples to a laboratory in Urumqi, and analyze them within 5-7 days."
Due to this, the company "KTZ-Freight Transportation" temporarily stops accepting applications for loading containers with agricultural goods to China in October, as there are already so many delays in the delivery routes that the transportation will have to be carried out throughout October. In case of a positive trend, the company may consider the possibility of additional volumes after October 10.
