The Minister announced that year after year the Astrakhan region is increasing the volumes of agricultural products and occupies leading positions in a number of indicators.
The region remains the leader in Russia in the production of vegetables and ranks first in the Southern Federal District in potato production.
One of the main topics discussed at the press conference was the issue of state support. Ruslan Pashaev talked about various forms of government support available in the region.
Many questions were raised about the ban on catching wobblers.
"You know that the ban on catching wobblers is not accidental," Ruslan Pashaev explained. "Wobbler stocks have reached a critical level. This is due to several factors, including mass catching. Poaching seriously affects the reduction of resources, as both amateur and professional fishermen catch a significant amount of fish. To hope that spawning will compensate for this is naive: in conditions of low water levels, spawning is neither abundant nor strong."
The Minister emphasized that the residents of the Astrakhan region, as responsible citizens, should understand the need for strengthening restrictive measures.
Ruslan Pashaev reported significant successes in rice farming in the region.
The development of rice farming remains one of the important directions for the region's development. Thanks to the projects "Lebedi Agro" and "APK RESURS," over the next three years, the area allocated for rice fields will quadruple. According to forecasts, it will reach 48 thousand hectares, with production totaling 185 thousand tons.
It is worth reminding that in 2024, the Astrakhan region set a new record for rice yield - almost 40 thousand tons. This is a huge achievement for the region, where the production of this crop practically ceased just a few years ago.
Meeting participants addressed the Minister with questions about the development of poultry farming and seed production in the region, as well as about monitoring the use of grants for novice farmers and the introduction of new agricultural crops. Plans for 2025 were discussed during the meeting.
