Alexander Novak, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, has approved a proposal to ban gasoline exports for companies not involved in its production. The decision was made at a meeting discussing the current situation in the oil products market and this measure was suggested to stabilize the market during a period of increased demand.
The government also noted that refineries and oil-producing companies that own them will be allowed to export fuel.
Thus, the permission to export gasoline is extended to producers, while other companies remain under restriction.
The government statement said: "At the meeting, the preparation of a government act was considered, which provides measures to prevent illegal exports of oil products, including transit through the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union."
Earlier, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) advocated for a complete ban on gasoline exports for all companies.
Speaking about the domestic market, the government press service stated: "According to the Federal Antimonopoly Service, the domestic market is fully supplied with fuel."
