At the sugar plant "Nikiforovsky" within the "Rusagro" agroholding, ongoing improvements are taking place: ventilated platforms are being built for beet storage. This will extend the processing duration. In January, another season concluded, during which 781 thousand tons of beets were processed. This number was lower than planned due to unfavorable weather conditions. There were frosts in spring and drought in summer, leading to a decrease in crop yield. However, the sugar content in the beets increased, reaching 20% or more in some cases, as reported by the newspaper "Znamya."
The average sugar content was 16.4%, resulting in the production of 128 thousand tons of sugar. This became the second-best result in the history of the plant. In addition to sugar, 20.3 thousand tons of granulated beet pulp and 30 thousand tons of molasses were produced. All products are in demand in the food and feed industries.
The high results were achieved through modernization: a new crystallizer was installed at the plant, the sugar syrup boiling process was automated, a beet cleaning system was introduced, packaging lines and the fleet of vehicles were updated. Renovation work was also carried out on the canteen and building facades.
