Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov met with the Ambassador of Egypt to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Hassan Ibtissam Rakha Ahmed.
The sides discussed strengthening cooperation in the field of agro-industrial complex. Aidarbek Saparov emphasized that cooperation in agriculture is one of the priority tasks.
"The share of agricultural products in the total trade turnover with Egypt is insignificant, the potential for increasing volumes of mutually beneficial supply of agricultural products is not fully utilized. We need to intensify our work. In 2024, thanks to the implementation of measures and compliance with agricultural technologies, a record amount of grain was harvested. We are ready to export up to 1 million tons of grain to Egypt, and if necessary, increase the supply volumes," the minister noted.
Hassan Ibtissam Rakha Ahmed announced that representatives of the agency "Future of Egypt for Sustainable Development" will soon arrive in Kazakhstan for further discussion of this issue.
The Kazakh side is ready to provide comprehensive support to their work.
Issues of exporting beef and mutton to Egypt, as well as joint construction of warehouses for storing wheat and grains, were also discussed.
