The index of agricultural production decreased in the 1st quarter of 2025, with grain reserves reduced by 26.2% - according to the report by Rosstat.

The agricultural production index in the 1st quarter of 2025 was 101.7%, slightly lower than a year ago.

In March 2025, the volume of production increased by 1.6%, exceeding February by 1.4%. Sales of grain decreased by 26.7%, sunflower seeds by 28.9%, while milk increased by 3.7%.

By March, grain stocks had decreased by 26.2%.

According to Rosstat reports, the agricultural production index for the first quarter of 2025 was 101.7%, slightly lower than the figure for the same period of the previous year - 101.9%.

In March of the current year, agricultural production increased by 1.6%, exceeding the February level by 1.4%. Compared to March of the previous year, production growth reached 3.1%.

The volume of agricultural production in March 2025 reached 518.6 billion rubles, and from January to March it amounted to 1.1322 trillion rubles.

In the first three months of 2025, agricultural enterprises achieved the following indicators:

  • The volume of grain sales decreased by 26.7% to 11.8 million tons,
  • Sunflower seed sales fell by 28.9% to 1.7 million tons,
  • Sales of livestock and poultry in live weight increased by 1.2% to 3.4 million tons,
  • The volume of milk sales increased by 3.7% to 5.2 million tons,
  • Egg sales increased by 3.3% to 8.5 billion pieces.

As previously reported, by the end of March, grain and legume inventories decreased by 26.2% to 17 million tons.
