Students from Volotovskaya, Savinskaya, Batetskaya, Borkovskaya, Lesnovskaya schools, as well as from secondary school No. 1 named after M. Averin and secondary comprehensive school No. 2 named after F.M. Dostoevsky have already been on 7 excursions. In April, they visited ZAO Sadko, SPPSK Novgorodskaya Paseka, and KFH Trushchenkova Svetlana.
The excursions were not only interesting but also informative. The students were given the opportunity to learn about regional farms, discover advanced technologies, and understand the process of food production.
At SPPSK Novgorodskaya Paseka, agro-class students were introduced to beekeeping, the specifics of honey and other product production, as well as the importance of bees in the pollination of agricultural crops. The Novgorodskaya Paseka cooperative is engaged in honey extraction and processing, which is then packaged and sent to stores.
The chairman of the Novgorodskaya Paseka cooperative, Anton Zheryov, showed the modern honey processing workshop, apiary, beehives, and shared his experience of participating in the "Agrostartup" grant competition.
At KFH Trushchenkova Svetlana, the children visited a deer farm. The family farm "Valdayskie Prostory" was opened in 2016 in the village of Edno, Valday district. It is home to roe deer, spotted, and noble deer. Currently, the number of breeding stock is about 100 individuals.
An exciting safari on the deer pasture was organized for the children.
Alexander Trushchenkov told the agro-class students about farm life and breeding Aberdeen Angus calves, which are also kept on his farm.
At ZAO Sadko, specialists gave a lecture to the agro-class students on the management of cattle, modern milk production methods, as well as on automation and modern technologies used in farming.
Excursions help to better understand the peculiarities of working in the agro-industrial complex, help in choosing a future profession, and acquiring important knowledge and skills.
“It is important for us that the children see real examples of successful farms and understand that agriculture is not only about working the land but also about innovations, technologies, and opportunities for development,” said Ignat Potapov, Director of the Consulting and Innovation Center of the Agricultural Sector of the Novgorod Region.
In May, additional excursions will be organized for students of the agro classes.
