In the first half of this year, the Russian Federation sent approximately 220,000 tons of agricultural products to Lebanon, which is 46% more than in the same period of the previous year, according to Interfax citing information from the federal center "Agroexport".
According to the data, the export value increased by 35%, reaching over $62 million.
"The main driver of shipments was wheat - the volume of exports increased almost 1.8 times, from 104,000 tons to 183,000 tons compared to the previous year," the report said.
It is also noted the high growth rate of Russian barley exports to Lebanon (shipments resumed for the first time since 2023) - for January-May, the shipment volume exceeded 21 thousand tons, which is 2.2 times more than in the entire previous year.
In addition, the export of Russian sugar beet pulp to Lebanon increased by 25%, reaching 2.8 thousand tons compared to almost 2.3 thousand tons a year earlier, the number of live sheep increased by 1.5 times, reaching 1.6 thousand tons (live weight) from approximately 1 thousand tons respectively.
The top five leaders in terms of export volume from Russia to Lebanon in natural terms in 2025 include wheat (83%), barley (10%), sunflower oil (5%), durum wheat (1%), and sugar beet pulp (1%).
