The Agricultural Situation Research Center (ASRC) is preparing to adjust the forecast for the harvest in the Rostov region and Krasnodar Krai due to soil moisture disruptions, while the assessment of grain collection in other regions may be increased. The head of ASRC, Dmitry Rylko, informed about this in a conversation with The Field.RF.
"It is likely that the forecast for the harvest in the Rostov region and Krasnodar Krai will have to be revised downwards. However, there is a significant probability that this decrease will be offset by the growth in harvest volumes and productivity in other regions due to favorable weather conditions," he explained.
In the 2024 harvesting season, farmers in Kuban harvested 13.8 million tons of grain, while in the Rostov region this figure stood at 11.6 million tons.
Rylko reminded that according to the overall forecast of ASRC for grain production in Russia by 2025, a range of 130–131 million tons is expected, of which about 83.8 million tons will be wheat. New information on the expected harvest will be presented within the next week after the field analysts conduct their next field survey.
According to Rosstat data, in the 2024 harvesting season, the volume of harvested grain amounted to 125.85 million tons, including 82.5 million tons of wheat.
