The company "Ukrzaliznytsia" has expressed a proposal to review the rate for delivering goods to the port of Izmail. This information was disclosed by the deputy head of the transportation and commercial activities department of the company, Valeriy Tkachev, at the Ukrainian Transport Forum 2025, as reported by Rail.insider.

A representative of UZ reminded that back in December 2024, the company began the process of indexing rates for freight transportation by rail. However, the final decision on changes to the tariffs has not yet been made by the Ministry of Economic Development.

Recently, a meeting was held in Odessa with the aim of supporting the port complex of Ukraine and improving the interaction between the railway and seaports. During this event, issues of aligning tariffs for freight transportation by rail to various ports were discussed. Jointly with representatives of the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, certain solutions were found.

Mechanisms were created to improve competition between ports. There are several ways to adjust tariffs, including the introduction of various coefficients, but this is still under development. We are waiting for one of the options to be chosen by the Ministry of Economic Development and presented to the public," explained V. Tkachev.

He also clarified that discussions focused on stimulating freight transportation to ports on the Danube, especially to the port of Izmail. Additionally, it is necessary to analyze the proposal to change tariffs for transporting 20-foot containers across the territory of Ukraine.

In conclusion, V. Tkachev summed up, noting that rates remain unchanged for now, with the last increase occurring in 2022.
