In the USA, corn planting is 97% behind schedule, but the output of spring wheat is in worse condition than a year ago.

According to NASS data, as of June 8, 3% of corn has been planted, emergence is at 87%, and soybeans are planted at 90%.

Wheat harvest: winter wheat harvested is at 4%, spring wheat is at 53% in good condition but lags behind last year.

As of June 8, only 3% of the planned corn area had been sown, according to data from the National Agricultural Statistics Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (NASS) published on the Grain Online portal.

It is also specified that by the same date, crop emergence on the planted areas had already reached 87%, which corresponds to the five-year average for the same date.

Soybean sowing is also nearing completion — as of June 8, 90% of the planned area had been planted, exceeding the five-year average (88%).

Concurrently in the U.S., winter wheat harvest is ongoing. By June 8, 4% of the crop had been harvested (compared to 11% on the same date last year, and a five-year average of 7%). The state of winter wheat plantings is assessed more positively than last year: the share of plantings in good and excellent condition is 54% (compared to 47% last year), satisfactory - 30% (34%), poor and very poor condition - 16% (19%).

Meanwhile, the condition of spring wheat is inferior to last year. The share of plantings in good and excellent condition is 53% (compared to 72% last year), satisfactory - 38% (25%), poor and very poor condition - 9% (3%).
