Fedor Dareka emphasized that Krasnodar Krai is the leading territorial area in rice production in Russia. This year, the area allocated for rice cultivation has increased by almost 7.5 thousand hectares, reaching 117.4 thousand hectares. The rice seeds used by Krasnodar farmers are still exclusively domestic and belong to the category of "National Rice Research Center (FNC) rice."
"We have sufficient water resources throughout the rice ripening stage, and favorable weather conditions allow us to expect a harvest not lower than last year's level. The farms in the region have already threshed more than 6 thousand hectares of rice, and the beginning of the harvest shows high yield - around 67 quintals per hectare," noted Fedor Dareka.
The head of the Krasnodar Krai Ministry of Agriculture highlighted that in 2023, the harvested volume of rice after processing amounted to 714.8 thousand tons. All necessary materials and technical resources were prepared in advance for the current harvest work. Over 730 combines will be involved in the harvesting process. Three elevators - Angelinsky, Poltavsky, and Starovelichkovsky - will be responsible for storing and processing rice. They can accept up to 15 thousand tons of raw rice per day.
In Kuban, about 100 farm households in eight municipal entities - Krasnodar, Abinsk, Slavyansk, Krymsk, Krasnoarmeysk, Temryuk, Kalininsk, and Seversk - are engaged in rice cultivation.
The largest areas for rice cultivation are located in the Krasnoarmeysky, Slavyansky, and Kalininsky districts.
Among the largest farm households, one can distinguish LLC "AFG National Agro," RPC "Krasnoarmeyskiy" named after A.I. Maystrenko - a branch of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution "FNC Rice," as well as LLC "Agrofirm "Privolye."
