In the first ten months of 2024, China imported Russian wheat worth $84.2 million. This is 3.4 times more than in the same period last year, as reported by "Interfax" agency, citing data from the State Customs Administration of China.
However, despite this, the volumes of Russian grain deliveries in October decreased slightly on an annual basis and amounted to $9.4 million, compared to $9.9 million. Despite the decrease in volumes, Russia still holds the third position among the largest wheat suppliers to the Chinese market, trailing only behind Canada ($37.9 million) and Kazakhstan ($10.4 million). China imports wheat from six countries in total.
Australia reflects the largest volume of wheat deliveries to China in the first 10 months of this year, with a total amount of $1.077 billion.
