In the Krasnodar Region, sugar beet production indicators have dropped significantly, from 552 to 352 centners per hectare. Last year, the harvest volume by November 15 was 2.7 million tons, while this year it's only 2 million tons, despite an increase in sown areas. This information was published by the newspaper "KommersantY".
In the Voronezh Region, due to spring frosts, 27 thousand hectares had to be replanted out of a total of 129 thousand hectares, leading to a decrease in yield to 389 centners per hectare compared to 534 centners last year. A total of 4.9 million tons were harvested, which is 1.6 million tons less than the previous year. The forecast predicts a harvest of up to 5 million tons. Factories processed 3.5 million tons of beets, resulting in 539.8 thousand tons of sugar. Another 132 thousand tons of sugar from last year remain in storage.
In the Kursk Region, the yield was 450 centners per hectare, with a total of 4.4 million tons harvested compared to 4.7 million tons last year with a yield of 530 centners per hectare. However, the sugar content percentage in the beets is higher, resulting in 15 thousand tons more sugar produced.
In the Lipetsk Region, the harvest decreased to 4.1 million tons compared to 5.3 million tons the previous year due to frost and drought.
In the Orel Region, the harvest increased by 57 thousand tons to 2.368 million tons. In the Tambov Region, 4.5 million tons were harvested from 115.7 thousand hectares this year, which is less than the 5.6 million tons harvested last year.
