The US Department of Agriculture in its September report has left unchanged its forecast for the wheat harvest in Russia in the current agricultural year (July 2024-June 2025) at 83 million tons. The assessment of ending stocks remains unchanged at 6.74 million tons.
The forecast for wheat exports from Russia remains at 48 million tons.
The corn harvest forecast has been lowered to 13.5 million tons (-600 thousand tons compared to the previous report). The forecast for corn exports is 3.8 million tons (-400 thousand tons), and ending stocks are estimated at 0.31 million tons (-100 thousand tons).
Feed grain production has decreased from 37.4 million to 36.8 million tons, with exports estimated at 8.1 million tons (-380 thousand tons). Ending stocks amount to 1.06 million tons.
The forecast for wheat exports for the main competitor of Russia - the European Union - has been reduced by 2.5 million tons to 31.5 million tons. The wheat harvest forecast in the EU has been lowered by 4 million tons to 124 million tons.
Wheat exports from Ukraine have been raised from 14 million to 15 million tons. The wheat harvest forecast has also been increased to 22.3 million tons (+700 thousand tons), with ending stocks at 1.09 million tons. Forecasts for corn harvest and exports remain unchanged at 27.2 million tons and 24 million tons, respectively.
The wheat harvest forecast in Kazakhstan remains unchanged at 16 million tons. Exports also remain at the same level - 10.5 million tons. Ending stocks are estimated at 2.83 million tons.
The forecast for global wheat production in the current agricultural year has been reduced to 796.88 million tons (-1.4 million), animal feed production - 1.502.45 billion tons (compared to 1.504.29 billion tons in the previous report), and corn production - 1.218.57 billion tons (compared to 1.219.82 billion tons).
The US Department of Agriculture does not include data on Crimea and new territories in its forecasts.
