Russia sets a tariff quota for exporting sunflower seeds from the Zabaykalsky Krai at 9.3 thousand tons.

Land areas under oilseed crops in Russia have reached a historical maximum of 20 million hectares, with a harvest of 31-32 million tons. Producers are switching to sunflower, rapeseed, beans, reducing wheat and rye cultivation. It is expected that processing of oil crops and meal will increase.

Export of meal decreased by 10%, rapeseed meal increased, while soybean meal decreased.

The center of Rosselkhozbank has completed the Forum on the development of linseed production in Russia. The planting area will increase by 5%, reaching 1.753 million hectares, with a yield of up to 1.42 million tons.

This year, the export of linseeds has decreased by 15%, with China and Belgium leading in purchases.

The issues in tomato production are due to vulnerability to diseases, including ToBRFV, which causes brown wrinkled fruit. Vegetables by Bayer company has introduced new tomato hybrids with genetic resistance to ToBRFV, designed to ensure safe and high-quality yields.

The company "Ukrzaliznytsia" has proposed to revise the rate for delivering goods to the port of Izmail. V. Tkachev stated that the decision has not been made by the Ministry of Infrastructure yet.

The discussions also covered stimulating freight transportation to the ports on the Danube and changing tariffs for container transportation across Ukraine.

According to NASS data, as of June 8, 3% of corn has been planted, emergence is at 87%, and soybeans are planted at 90%.

Wheat harvest: winter wheat harvested is at 4%, spring wheat is at 53% in good condition but lags behind last year.

Analysts have increased the forecast of wheat harvest to 82.8 million tons due to the weather in the Southern regions. However, in the Rostov region, drought is damaging the crops. Production is planned to be reduced, fearing that the harvest will be worse than last year.

The importance of gardening in the Russian agro-industrial complex was emphasized at the meeting where successes and development goals were discussed. Stavropol Krai stands out with significant progress - the area of orchards is growing, yields are increasing, and nursery capacities meet global standards.

ICAS is preparing to adjust the crop forecast in the Rostov region and Krasnodar region due to soil moisture disruption. However, the harvest in other regions may increase. In Kuban, 13.8 million tons of grain were harvested, in the Rostov region - 11.6 million tons. According to ICAS forecast, by 2025, Russia is expected to produce 130-131 million tons of grain. New data will be presented next week after field inspection.

In 2024, 125.85 million tons of grain were harvested, including 82.5 million tons of wheat.

The export of vegetable oils decreased by 22% during the first 5 months of 2025. The export of sunflower seeds, soybeans, rapeseed, and flax decreased. Prices for the products are declining due to abundant reserves and negative producer margins.

According to the exchange report, the volume of grain sales from the state reserve fund has decreased to 1350 tons.

The sale of rye from the 2023 harvest was conducted at the National Commodity Exchange. It is planned to sell up to 3 million tons of grain. By June 6, 219,510 tons of grain were sold for 3.2 billion rubles.

Production of agricultural products in Russian farms has increased: by 1.4% in April, by 1.6% in January-April. Experts expect a growth ranging from 2% to 4.4% this year, however, some believe that the forecasts are overestimated due to negative factors.

Wheat prices dropped on three exchanges on Tuesday. The USDA report showed that the winter wheat harvest is 3% complete. A decrease in wheat crop is expected in Ukraine. Corn prices have slightly increased, while soybean prices have risen. The market is supported by expectations of negotiations between Trump and Xi.

Indonesia reduced palm oil exports by 5.37% in the first 4 months of 2025, but the total value increased by 20% to $7.05 billion. The export duty on crude oil was increased from 7.5% to 10%.

India extends duty-free import of Canadian yellow peas until 2026. China has imposed a 100% tariff on peas from Canada due to a trade war. The export of yellow peas to China has decreased, so access to the Indian market becomes important for Canada.

Russia will also start supplying peas to India, creating competition for Canadian farmers. Canada may reduce prices to maintain its market position.
