In the southern part of Astrakhan, in the Trusov area, a large terminal complex for grain and vegetable oil transportation is planned to be built. The implementation of this project is entrusted to the company "Caspian Grain". Today, Igor Babushkin, the head of the Astrakhan region, noted that in order to accelerate the start of construction, it is necessary to issue an order to provide land for the future terminal without holding auctions.
The intensification of transportation through the international transport corridor "North-South" requires the creation of new infrastructure for cargo transshipment. The upcoming terminal will become one of the elements of this infrastructure and will increase deliveries to the countries of the Caspian region, as well as potentially to more distant destinations such as Africa, the UAE, or India. The Astrakhan authorities have repeatedly discussed such plans with partners from various countries.
The plans to create a terminal for the transshipment of vegetable oils in the Trusov district of Astrakhan emerged several years ago when the process of modernizing the Astrakhan seaport began. Previously, in our city, there was no equipment for oil transshipment in any of the ports. Oil is supplied to Astrakhan from the central regions of Russia, and then it is mainly sent to Iran, where the demand for oil is traditionally high. The same applies to grain - the main batches of grain from the Astrakhan ports are directed precisely to this country.
