A large-scale sugar beet sowing campaign has begun in the Lipetsk region: it is planned to allocate more than 120 thousand hectares by 2025.

The Department of Agriculture of the Lipetsk region plans to increase the area under sugar beets to 120,000 hectares by 2025. Currently, the region has already sown 204,000 hectares with spring crops, including 2,000 hectares of sugar beets. This year's crops are ahead of last year's by 40%.

The Department of Agriculture of the Lipetsk region informs about the beginning of sugar beet sowing by the region's farmers. It is planned to allocate over 120 thousand hectares for this type of crop by 2025. Currently, the spring sowing process in the region is in full swing: by April 15, the area sown with spring crops amounts to 204 thousand hectares.

Out of this total area, 179 thousand hectares are occupied by cereals and leguminous crops, 8 thousand hectares – by sunflowers, 12 thousand hectares – by spring rapeseed, and so far only 2 thousand hectares – by sugar beets. In addition, the sowing of forage crops has begun. In total, this year it is planned to plant over 1 million hectares, of which by mid-April, 20% has already been sown. According to the statement of Minister Ekaterina Markova, this year's sowing rates exceed last year's rates by 40%.
