Kazakhstan has turned to Rosselkhoznadzor with a request to consider the possibility of transporting lentils, which are supposed to be delivered to Turkey, promising to provide additional information on the state of quarantine phytosanitary control on its territory.
The Russian authority specifies that such a request was made during an online discussion with the Acting Chairman of the Committee for State Supervision of the Agro-Industrial Complex of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, Sakene Kanybekov.
During the negotiations, the issue of falsification of phytosanitary documentation issued for European fruit and vegetable products represented as Kazakhstani was discussed. These negotiations were initiated by the Russian side and conducted by the Deputy Head of Rosselkhoznadzor, Yulia Shvabauskene.
During the discussion, Rosselkhoznadzor expressed its concern over ongoing instances of illegal imports of sanctioned sub-quarantine products from Kazakhstan to Russia, in particular, pears from Europe.
For this reason, the service sent an official letter to the competent authority in the Republic requesting an investigation of all cases identified and appropriate measures to be taken. In turn, the Kazakhstan side assured that "a comprehensive inspection will be conducted in the near future, and the results of the investigation will be forwarded to Rosselkhoznadzor."
Earlier this week, it became known that on November 9, 2024, employees of the Rosselkhoznadzor administration in the Orenburg region prevented an attempt to illegally import 10 batches of "sanctioned" products - pear fruits weighing 180 tons from Kazakhstan to Russia.
According to phytosanitary certificates attached to the batch, it was produced in Kazakhstan. However, it was found that this product was packed in wooden crates with clear signs of removed and new labeling: the previous labeling contained inscriptions in a foreign language and indications of the country of origin - Poland and Belgium.
Rosselkhoznadzor provided information about the violations to the Committee of State Inspection in the Agricultural Complex of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, requesting an investigation and proposing negotiations on the issue.
