According to the statements of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Viktoria Abramchenko, grain exports from Russia to Algeria will be carried out in national currencies - Russian rubles and Algerian dinars. Both parties show interest in this issue, and such a decision is gaining increasing importance.
Viktoria Abramchenko confirmed that their partners are also interested in conducting settlements in national currencies, and such an approach is mutually beneficial for both parties. She added to her statement, emphasizing that this decision was made after discussions and agreements at meetings in broad and narrow formats.
These meetings also discussed the possibilities of supplying halal products. The Deputy Prime Minister reminded that Dmitry Patrushev, the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, heads the Russian part of the intergovernmental commission with Algeria.
Earlier, Viktoria Abramchenko announced that Russia had already concluded over 750 contracts for the export of agricultural products in national currencies in 2023. She then noted that the draft decree of the President of the Russian Federation on settlements for agricultural product supplies in national currencies could be submitted to the Russian government as early as June of this year.
