The Trans-Baikal region has set records: 148,000 sheep were sheared and 391.5 tons of wool were collected during the shearing campaign.

In the Trans-Baikal region, 148,000 sheep were sheared, collecting 391.5 tons of wool. The best indicators were in Aginsky district (86.2 tons), Mogoytuisky district (77.3 tons), and Borzinsky district (43.4 tons).

Wool sales for processing amounted to 102 tons. The governor has launched a program for the development of sheep farming until 2030.

In the Trans-Baikal Territory, the results of the sheep shearing campaign have been summed up. Chairman Denis Bochkarev announced the results: 148 thousand sheep were sheared in agricultural enterprises and farms, with a total volume of sheared wool amounting to 391.5 tons. As a result, 140 tons of fine, 32.5 tons of semi-fine, 144 tons of coarse, and 75 tons of semi-coarse wool were obtained. The average yield per sheep was 3.1 kg.

The Aginsky District took the first place in wool production – 86.2 tons were obtained. Agricultural enterprises and farmers of the Mogoytuysky District collected 77.3 tons of wool, while farms in the Borzinsky District managed to shear 43.4 tons of sheep wool.

Currently, producers of agricultural products in the Trans-Baikal Territory have started selling sheep farming products, with a total volume of shipped wool for processing amounting to 102 tons.

It became known that at the initiative of the region's Governor Alexander Osipov, a comprehensive program for the development of sheep farming in the Trans-Baikal Territory has been in effect since 2021 and will last until 2030. The goal of the program is to increase the number of small cattle, increase the volumes of sheep farming products, and improve the lives of rural population.
