The official conclusion of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Grain Quality Assessment Center" confirmed that the batch of plums was contaminated with a harmful quarantine organism posing a risk to the quarantine phytosanitary status.

According to paragraph 4 of Chapter 1 of Decision No. 157 of the Eurasian Economic Commission dated November 30, 2016, the import of infected pre-quarantine products into the territory of the Russian Federation is prohibited. To prevent the spread of the quarantine object, the batch of plums was returned to the exporting country at the request of the participant in foreign economic activity.

Brown rot - is a dangerous disease of stone fruit crops such as apples, plums, apricots, cherries, peaches, nectarines, and other fruits.

The fungus causing this disease affects flowers, buds, young shoots, branches, and fruit of plants. Plum leaves can also become infected. Under certain conditions, such as increased humidity and moderate temperatures, the fungus spores spread rapidly. On fresh fruits, the fungus may be present as a latent infection, without showing symptoms.
