In August of this year, the export duty on sunflower oil from the Russian Federation will remain at zero, while the duty on sunflower meal will increase by 2.1 times.
The Ministry of Agriculture has presented calculations of the duties.
Thus, for the fifteenth consecutive month (since June 2023), the duty on oil will remain at zero.
At the same time, the duty on sunflower meal will increase to 1,869.7 rubles from 901.3 rubles in July, which is a 2.1 times increase.
Based on indicative prices used for duty calculation, the price of oil is $798.3 per ton ($773.3 in the previous month), and the price of meal is $211.2 ($198.6).
The base price for calculating the duty on meal from September 1, 2023, was increased by 2,000 rubles to 15,875 rubles per ton, while the base price for calculating the duty on oil remained unchanged at 82,500 rubles per ton.
The duties on oil and meal have been calculated in rubles since July 2022. The duty rate for sunflower oil is 70% of the difference between the base price (82,500 rubles per ton) and the indicative price (average market price for the month). The export duty on sunflower meal is calculated as the difference between the indicative price (average market price for the month) and the base price (15,875 rubles per ton), multiplied by the correction factor (0.7).
