Planting of early spring crops is coming to an end: over 283 thousand hectares of sugar beets have been planted, and 111 thousand hectares of corn have been sown.

The sowing of early spring crops is ending. The sowing area is more than 283 thousand hectares. Sugar beet sowing is completed on 95 thousand hectares, part of it suffered from frost. Corn sowing continues (142 thousand hectares, 111 thousand hectares sown) and sunflower sowing (96 thousand hectares out of 103 thousand hectares) is ongoing.

Early spring crops sowing is coming to an end

The total sown area is over 283,000 hectares. The sugar beet sowing has also been completed on an area of over 95,000 hectares, with approximately 4,500 hectares affected by nighttime frosts.

The sowing of maize for grain harvesting is ongoing, with a planned area of 142,000 hectares for this season, of which around 111,000 hectares have been sown.

Sunflower sowing is also nearing completion: according to the regional Ministry of Agriculture, 96,000 hectares have been sown out of the planned 103,000 hectares.
