Wheat prices continue to rise in Kazakhstan. Last week, an increase was noted for grain of 3rd, 4th, and 5th categories, as reported by the APK News agency.
As of June 2, 2025, the price of soft wheat of the 3rd category with a protein content above 28% is 128,000 tenge, while the 3rd category with protein content up to 25% is priced at 96,000 tenge. The prices for these two positions have not changed in a week. This information is presented in the latest report of the research bureau "Grain and Oilseeds. Kazakhstan".
At the same time, wheat of the 3rd category with a protein content up to 23% has increased by 4,000 tenge per ton and is currently being sold at a price of 91,000 tenge.
Grain of the 4th category currently costs 88,000 tenge, with an average price increase of 5,000 tenge per ton over the week.
The price of grain of the 5th category is 80,000 tenge, with an increase of 7,000 tenge.
Hard wheat has maintained its price over the past week, fluctuating between 81,000 and 94,000 tenge. Farmers are advised to sell it.
A week earlier, grain processors noted that the increase in the cost of soft wheat is due to high demand from processors and foreign grain buyers.
It should be noted that grain processors from northern Kazakhstan express doubts about the accuracy of official data. They claim that there is a lack of the 9 million tons of grain in the warehouses, as stated in official statistics. Farmers say they have no grain in stock. Those who have it are holding onto it. The forecasts for this year are not so optimistic.
