On November 6, 2024, more than 2.1 million tons of wheat were analyzed at the branch, which is almost 98.9% of the total volume selected for research within the framework of the state wheat monitoring this year (a total of 2.1 million tons).
Overall, more than 4,000 grain samples were taken, which were reviewed in the branch laboratory. As a result of the tests, 4.1 thousand protocols were issued to the applicants, confirming that the majority of the grain belongs to food wheat.
"Research has shown that a significant portion of winter and spring wheat - more than 418 thousand tons (20% of the total volume) belongs to valuable 3rd class wheat with a protein content of 23% and above. It was also found that 818 thousand tons (39%) of 4th class wheat with a protein content of not less than 18%, and 852 thousand tons (41%) of 5th class wheat," said Tatyana Menlikieva, the director of the branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Quality Assessment Center for Agricultural Products" in the Republic of Tatarstan.
Tatiana Menlikieva reminded that the new harvest wheat of the 3rd and 4th classes meets export standards for basic milling characteristics. The maximum protein content exceeds 19%, and the weight reaches 824 g/l.
Wheat is evaluated based on 19 quality and safety parameters, including color, aroma, moisture level, falling number, as well as the composition of fractions of weed and grain impurities.
All research is carried out in accordance with the Order of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia dated September 8, 2021, No. 611 "On approving the list of characteristics of grain produced in the territory of the Russian Federation for the purpose of state grain monitoring." This year, the branch received nearly 2.6 thousand notifications from agricultural producers of the Republic of Tatarstan about the readiness of wheat batches for research.
It should be noted that in accordance with the orders of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Grain Quality Assessment Center" was reorganized by merging it with six federal state institutions subordinate to the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance.
These institutions were transformed into branches of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Grain Quality Assessment Center," which significantly expanded the structure and functions of the Center. Changes were made to the institution's charter, which was supplemented with new areas, including the veterinary sphere. In addition, the logo of the institution was changed in accordance with the new areas of activity.
The institution has been renamed and is now called the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Federal Center for Safety and Quality Assessment of Agricultural Products" (abbreviated as the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Quality Assessment Center for Agricultural Products").
The Federal State Budgetary Institution "Quality Assessment Center for Agricultural Products" includes 23 branches and 26 testing laboratories.
