Konstantin Rachalovsky noted that thanks to state support for aquaculture, the region maintains leading positions in the production of commercial fish in the Southern Federal District. He provided statistics: currently, 24.2 thousand tons of commercial fish are produced in the Rostov region, which corresponds to the indicators of the same period in 2023.
As for the catch of aquatic bioresources, according to the data of the Azov-Black Sea Territorial Administration of the Federal Agency for Fishery, it amounted to 7.5 thousand tons, which is 7% more than last year. The production of fish processing products also amounted to 18.3 thousand tons, which corresponds to the level of the previous year.
It is worth noting that in the Don region, commercial fish is produced in three main directions: pond, industrial, and pasture aquaculture.
In 2024, almost 116 million rubles were allocated from the regional budget to support the fisheries complex of the Don.
