Afghanistan is in need of grain and is asking Russia to lower export prices for it. This was reported by the Minister of Industry and Trade of the controlling movement in Afghanistan, the Taliban (an organization banned in the Russian Federation), named Nuruddin Azizi during the session of the "Russia - Afghanistan" within the international economic forum "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum 2024," as reported by Interfax.
"There are certain goods in Russia that Afghanistan needs - wheat, grain. We need them. Unfortunately, the export tariff in Russia is very high. We want this price to be reduced," Azizi said during the session.
The Minister believes that there is also a need to introduce special tariffs on Afghan export goods.
"We aim to utilize all the advantages of countries that do not have access to the sea," Azizi added.
