Within the "Forest Conservation" project initiated by the President of Russia, work is being carried out to assess the condition of the forests, identify and eliminate pest outbreaks, conduct biotechnical measures, sanitary felling, and wood clearing.

Plans for this year include: work on 35 hectares, with 4.7 hectares for felling and 30.3 hectares for wood clearing, as well as biotechnical measures on 3.2 thousand hectares.

In Ukraine, the wheat harvest will remain at the level of 22.9 million tons, and exports will decrease. Kazakhstan has increased its forecast for wheat production. The overall global harvest has been increased slightly.

In 2024, phytosanitary monitoring against locusts was carried out in Kalmykia. 63.58 thousand hectares were infected, but 45.55 thousand hectares were successfully cleaned. The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kalmykia increased expenses for combating pests by 10%. They are preparing for the spread of the Italian locust.
