According to the Eurasian Sugar Association, as of October 14, the EAEU countries have harvested sugar beets on an area of 830.1 thousand hectares, with a total volume of over 31.8 million tons.
In Belarus, 56.2 thousand hectares of beets were harvested (a 3% increase compared to 2023) with a yield of 460 centners per hectare. In Kazakhstan, the harvested area was 8.7 thousand hectares (a 45% increase from the previous year) with a yield of 450 centners per hectare. In Kyrgyzstan, the beet harvesting area decreased by 27% to 35.5 thousand hectares, while the yield was 600 centners per hectare. In Russia, 759.7 thousand hectares of beets were harvested with a yield of 372 centners per hectare (a 11.2% increase compared to 2023).
There are a total of 73 sugar beet processing plants operating in the EAEU. Since the beginning of the season, 20 million tons of beets have been processed and 2.85 million tons of sugar have been produced (an increase of 140 thousand tons compared to 2023). In Russia, 2.62 million tons of sugar were produced (an increase of 110 thousand tons), in Belarus - 198.3 thousand tons of sugar (an increase of 23.9 thousand tons), in Kazakhstan - 9.3 thousand tons of sugar (an increase of 4.2 thousand tons), in Kyrgyzstan - 12.2 thousand tons of sugar (an increase of 1.25 thousand tons).
