In 2024, under normal weather conditions, Russia can harvest around 135-145 million tons of grain.

As for the year 2024, it is too early to provide exact numbers at this point. Analysts are looking at a range of approximately 135 million to 145 million tons. This is under normal weather conditions, assuming there are no natural disasters. Hopefully, there won't be any weather calamities that would significantly impact the figures, and we are currently counting on such a harvest. This is actually a very good harvest considering that we have record transitional reserves.

Currently, it is necessary to increase grain exports to a minimum of 70 million tons. This is to prevent pressure on reserves and to reduce them to a normal level. With the existing infrastructure, Russia can export about 7 million tons of grain per month. We have 12 months in a year, but not all of these months, naturally, operate at full capacity; it's impossible as weather conditions play a role.

Ultimately, we can easily handle 70 million tons if there is demand. The Ministry of Agriculture must add quotas to achieve this. Without additional quotas, exporting 70 million tons is unrealistic. We will only export 65 million tons at the end of the season without adding quotas. It also depends on how many quotas the Ministry of Agriculture adds. With our infrastructure, we can easily handle 65 million tons.

According to him, in the current season, the geography of Russian grain supplies is actively expanding. We are increasing supplies even to Latin America. Brazil and Mexico are actively buying our grain, our wheat, although they used to do it very moderately, if at all. However, Egypt and Turkey remain the main consumers of Russian grain.

Regarding wheat prices in Russia, the head of the union stated that the domestic price situation depends on the world price and the dollar exchange rate. Currently, prices, when converted to dollars, are around $128 per ton - this is the lowest purchase price among all competitor countries.

In 2023, the second largest grain harvest in the history of Russia was obtained - around 143 million tons, including new regions, approximately 147 million tons.

Earlier, the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia confirmed the expected grain export for the current agricultural year of not less than 65 million tons. In late November 2023, the Minister Dmitry Patrushev stated that Russia could export more than 65 million tons of grain by the end of the current season.
