The meeting took place on the territory of a foreign state. The work in the agriculture sector of Russia was discussed with the Minister of Agricultural Policy of Iraq, Al-Maliki Abbas Jabir Ali, who was invited to participate in the ASIAEXPO-2024 congress. The Minister accepted the invitation and noted the significant cooperation between Russia and Iraq. His delegation will include key figures in Iraq's agriculture sector. Issues of cooperation with Russian agricultural machinery producers, irrigation and elevator construction, grain trade, feed, veterinary drugs, meat, flour, and oil were also discussed.
Currently, the congress organizers are preparing for the visit of the minister and his delegation to the Russian Sirius. Business meetings included presentations from leading Russian companies such as "Rostselmash," SKES, "Miratorg," "Agrokomplex," TMK, "Megamix," PTF "Akashevo," PTF, GAP "Resource," GC VIK, "Progress Agro," LLC "Protectfeed," LLC "Feedtech."
The Deputy Minister of Trade of Iraq, Salman Sarwat Akram, representatives of private businesses, and the Chairman of the Farmers Union of Iraq, Hassan Mohammed Abdullah, familiarized themselves with the achievements of Russian technologies. Isbay Shadi, the leading regional sales manager of Rostselmash, highlighted the advantages of this large enterprise compared to foreign analogues.
Shadi invited the Minister of Agriculture of Iraq to Russia to assess the company's capabilities firsthand. Igor Milovanov noted that representatives of the companies presented in Iraq will also participate in the congress in Sirius.
"We are pleased with the negotiation results, as we see a positive trend in the interest of Iraqi businesses and their readiness to cooperate with Russian companies. The agreements reached will be discussed at the forum in October in Sirius," Milovanov stated.
The Head of the Purchasing Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of Iraq, Taleb Alkaby, also showed interest in Russian equipment. In the near future, representatives of Russian companies will visit Iraq to discuss equipment supply issues. Taleb Alkaby confirmed his participation in the Sirius forum.
"The exchange of experience and economic practices between Russia and Iraq can be beneficial to both sides in the field of exports and imports. Russia has several large leading companies in agriculture, one of which is Rostselmash. The company plays an important role in the development of agriculture not only in Russia but worldwide. They are a key developer in their country and offer a wide range of products - over 150 models and modifications of agricultural machinery, electronic systems, and products supplied to 20 countries. Moreover, a new tractor plant covering more than 60,000 square meters was launched in March 2024," concluded Milovanov.
