The Pakistani government has decided to ban the import of wheat due to sufficient grain reserves and stable flour prices, according to information published in The Nation newspaper and confirmed by government sources.
In accordance with experts' report on the availability of an adequate amount of grains in the Islamic Republic, this decision was approved during a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee of the cabinet ministers.
Pakistan, along with Turkey, Egypt, Bangladesh, and Algeria, is among the top five major consumers of wheat from Russia.
