Production of pork in the Irkutsk region is planned to increase by 77% by 2030 thanks to new investments.

In the Irkutsk region, this year 18.6 thousand tons of pork were produced, mainly from the breeds Large White, Landrace, and Duroc.

It is planned to increase production to 41.3 thousand tons by 2024 and by 77% by 2030 thanks to investments.

The foundation of the new pig population in this region is formed by Large White, Landrace, and Duroc breeds.

Over the first eight months of this year, agricultural organizations in the Angara region produced 18.6 thousand tons of pork.

According to statistics, last year the region ranked seventh in the Siberian Federal District in terms of pork production volume, reaching 41.3 thousand tons live weight.

Preliminary forecasts indicate that by the end of 2024, pork production volume, including products from private subsidiary farms, should reach about 41.3 thousand tons of meat.

Furthermore, by 2030, an increase of 77% in pork production in the Irkutsk region is expected due to the implementation of new investment projects.
