Kazakhstan plans to increase grain exports to China to 1 million tons per year. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan during a meeting with representatives of leading Chinese agro companies COFCO and CITIC Group in Beijing. Erbol Karashukeev shared perspectives on growth and cooperation in the agricultural sector, as well as discussed plans to establish direct contacts between entrepreneurs of the two countries.
COFCO and CITIC Group specialists were offered to purchase grain through Kazakhstani companies, which have significant reserves and are capable of providing the required volume and quality for export. In addition, the ministry is ready to assist in resolving issues related to the logistics of the agricultural sector. There are terminals in Alashankou and Khorgos cities on the border capable of accepting up to 10 thousand tons of grain per day.
