The cargo turnover of Russian seaports decreased by 3.2% in January-October 2024, reaching 743 million tons. The transportation of dry cargo decreased by 3.5%, amounting to 370.8 million tons. Export declined by 2.8%, import increased by 9.0%, transit remained unchanged, and cabotage decreased by 13.1%.

During January-October 2024, the cargo turnover of Russian seaports decreased by 3.2% compared to the same period last year, reaching 743 million tons, as reported by the Association of Sea Ports.

The total volume of dry cargo transportation amounted to 370.8 million tons, which is 3.5% less than the previous year. This figure includes:

  • Grain transportation - 64.2 million tons (an increase of 4.1%);
  • Mineral fertilizers transportation - 35.9 million tons (an increase of 19.1%).

During the period from January to October, 586.6 million tons of export cargo were transshipped (a decrease of 2.8%), 35.2 million tons of import cargo (an increase of 9.0%), 54.8 million tons of transit cargo (unchanged level), and 66.5 million tons of coastal cargo (a decrease of 13.1%).
