Interesting data on sugar production and exports in the CIS countries: exports grew by 3.9 times and amounted to 135,000 tons, while imports decreased by 42% to 1.25 million tons. Sugar beet production increased by 8% to 7.375 million tons, with the sowing area expanding by 5% to 1.235 million hectares. Further growth in production and cultivation area is projected by the year 2030.

Andrey Bodin, Executive Director of the Eurasian Sugar Association, shared interesting data on the significant growth of sugar exports from the CIS countries at the international conference "Sugar Market of CIS Countries 2024. New Trends - New Solutions". According to him, exports have increased by 3.9 times, reaching 135,000 tons.
At the same time, it is worth noting a 42% reduction in imports, which amounted to only 1.25 million tons, as reported by the official website of the [Eurasian Sugar Association](https://sugar.ru/sb/info/person/60).
It is also important to highlight the growth of beet sugar production in CIS countries this year, which has increased by 8% to reach 7.375 million tons. Viable predictability shows that by next year, production will slightly increase to reach 7.4 million tons.
Looking further ahead, creative growth of this indicator to 8 million tons is expected by 2030.
The expansion of sugar beet cultivation area also has a positive impact on the industry. In 2023, it increased by 5% to reach 1.235 million hectares.
Researchers express their confidence that by next year, the area will be even wider, reaching 1.243 million hectares, but by 2030, it will reach the previously unimaginable mark of 1.35 million hectares.
