In the Kursk region, sugar beet harvesting is coming to an end. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, 90.5 thousand hectares have been harvested, which is 86% of the planned volume. As a result, more than 4 million tons of beets were collected in the fields with a yield of 447 centners per hectare. This information is reported by the KIT news portal.
The beets are being sent for processing to 7 plants, where around 2.367 million tons of sugar beets by raw weight have been received. At the moment, 1.753 million tons have been processed, resulting in 274 thousand tons of sugar and 65 thousand tons of granulated dried beet pulp.
