In Belarus, more than 34 thousand hectares of early spring cereals and leguminous crops were sown, as reported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of BELTA.
Sowings of early spring cereals and leguminous crops (excluding maize, buckwheat, and millet) amounted to 5.57% of the plan. In the Brest region, 20.7 thousand hectares of land were sown, in the Vitebsk region - 0.42 thousand hectares, in the Gomel region - 3.59 thousand hectares, in the Grodno region - 7.49 thousand hectares, in the Minsk region - 2.08 thousand hectares, and in the Mogilev region - 0.47 thousand hectares.
According to the plan, soil plowing was carried out on 216.8 thousand hectares, which is 28.4% of the plan. The soil prepared for sowing of early spring crops covered 124.9 thousand hectares - 20% of the plan. Types of crops requiring fertilization also received their share: winter cereals - 875.3 thousand hectares (57.3% of the plan), cruciferous crops for grain - 207.8 thousand hectares (48.4% of the plan), perennial grasses for fallow land - 94.4 thousand hectares (10.23% of the plan), and improved hayfields and pastures - 142.8 thousand hectares (11.3% of the plan).
