Rosselkhoznadzor: Russia in 2023 retained the main buyers of grain, expands the supply of meat

Russia in 2023 can export grain to almost 160 countries, and has also expanded the supply of poultry, beef and pork. This was announced on June 16 by the head of Rosselkhoznadzor Sergey Dankvert.

“The main buyers of Russian grain <...> were the countries of the Middle East with a share of 39%, Africa - 20%, Asia - 31%, the European Union - 7%," Dankvert said in an interview with RIA Novosti at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

He also stressed that grain deliveries to the EAEU countries increased by 1.6 times, to 5.6 million tons. In particular, to Belarus, by 72%, to 1.2 million tons.

In addition, according to Dankvert, last year Russia received the right to supply 34 types of livestock products to 41 countries, and in 2023 - nine types of products to five countries.

The head of the Rosselkhoznadzor added that, despite the difficulties with logistics, there is an increase in the volume of exports of products compared to 2022.

On June 14, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko announced that by the end of 2023, the export of Russian products of the agro-industrial complex (AIC) could show the same growth as last year.

In 2022, Russian agricultural exports exceeded $41.5 billion, which is 12% higher than in 2021 ($37.1 billion).

Earlier, on June 9, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin said that the level of food security in Russia is one of the most reliable in the world.
